Again what a great week, this will have been our third visit to Les Fantastic, and our second being the guest of Debbie and Paul. Each time we come back it has improved with the accommodation now being of the highest standard when it comes to fishing venues. It was the first time we met Paul and what a nice guy with nothing but the fishing and the fish welfare on his mind, a refreshing change to the captive market everything going to cost ya culture that a lot of venues seem to have adopted these days.  A great couple and we consider them as friends now rather that our fishing hosts. Beware the Mahitos if Debbie is about !!!!!!
Right to the fishing; I moved about a bit starting in the swim to the left of the left of the pool behind the stock pond, then in front of the house, ( There wasn’t a swim there until Paul cut one in, fair play for that Paul) the n finally on the back in the middle swim.  I must admit sitting in one swim when nothing is happening is not my style but unfortunately it has to be considered as I benefited from sitting on my hands, by the end of the week the takes started to be very regular. Gee and Ian enjoyed the social front lawn swims with Gee being entrenched in the left hand swim adjacent the weed and Ian settling for the right hand bay swim. Fishing for Gee was instant and frequent; the fish seemed to favour this area due to the weed and the abundant oxygen levels and was catching most nights with the odd fish during the day. Ian was in a similar position to me as the fish ventured out across the lake at night to feed, Ian only managed two fish in the twenty bracket the rest being thirty plus !!!! Gutted or what Ian? Not !!!As you will see from our catch report we did well for the conditions and had some really good fish topped by a 50 I had on the last night. As the air pump gathers momentum and the water becomes saturated I am sure the catch results will improve, which is say something as in my mind there are already outstanding. Bait wise we used Ocean Fresh Red Shrimp and Garlic which has produced for us repeatedly, Mid water on the sandy channel produced for me well, the back bay dried up although the fish were still present through out the week, Gee fished one rod into the bay opposite the spit from his swim and then the two other rods were fired out into the holes in the weed running back to his swim. Ian started in the margins on the opposite back but towards the end of the week the fish hard really got on the bait and it was just a matter getting it out there. We have missed out on a booking next year, its fully booked but that is testament to the quality of the venue, but we will not miss out in 2011.

Thanks to Paul and Debbie for making our stay so enjoyable and I hope that guys that follow us enjoy the success we had and good luck with the bait.
